The United States flag flies proudly in Bessemer.
A beautiful display of our country’s flag is at Limitless Kustoms, located at 1429 Carolina Avenue in Bessemer.
Several weeks ago, Cortez Darris Sr. installed a 30-foot, one-piece aluminum flagpole at the front entrance of his business, Limitless Kustoms. It is topped with a brass eagle resting on a steel brass ball.
This project is in honor of the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.
The United States flag displayed is 6 feet by 10 feet.
Darris said, “My mother, Freddie Mae Darris, instilled in me a love for America. Growing up in Chicago, I was raised to be patriotic.”
There is no better way to show your patriotism than flying an American flag.
This is his sixth flagpole project. The others line Clarendon Avenue between 16th Street and 15th Street.
Darris recently retired from Mercedes after 22 years of service.
He has been married for 39 years to Susan Darris, and they have two adult children.
