Mayor Gulley is committed to Bessemer and is seeking reelection to complete his work of making Bessemer a city where economic growth and opportunity are welcomed and encouraged as well as a safer, cleaner city that the citizens can be proud of.

First elected in 2010, Mayor Gulley has taken the city from near bankruptcy to a sound fiscal footing. Over the last 16 years, 10,000 jobs have been created.

Mayor Gulley said, “I want to again thank the good people of Bessemer for entrusting me to lead this great city over the past 16 years.” He added, “I will continue working to make Bessemer a better place to live, work and raise a family.”

An engaging personality, Mayor Gulley knows that nothing can replace the value of knocking on doors, attending community events, volunteering and simply meeting and helping people.

Among his goals for the next term include public safety, youth and senior programs, infrastructure improvements and strong finances.

He has been married for 33 years to Yvonne Gulley, and they have two children and three grandchildren.

His leadership ability has earned him another term in office.
