This will be a grand opportunity to properly dispose of household hazardous waste items. If these items are not disposed of correctly, they can create a risk for the homeowner.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day will be held on Saturday, April 25, in Bessemer. The collection site will be the City of Bessemer Public Works Laydown Yard, located at 1205 15th Avenue North. The site will be open from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Items collected include paint, batteries, ammunition, appliances, cooking grease, tires, prescription drugs, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Businesses are not allowed to participate.
