Johnson Memorial hosts discussion panel on final expenses

Johnson Memorial staff pose together

In January 2027, Johnson Memorial will be serving the Bessemer community for sixty years, and with such a big anniversary coming, they’re not leaving a stone unturned when it comes to sharing knowledgeable information concerning important details many of us overlook.

Recently, Howard Johnson, Jr. and staff visited Bessemer’s Kenneth E. Gulley Rec Center to share with a multi-generational group the importance of “Not Leaving One’s Family In A Bind.”

It is a sensitive topic, but as a songwriter once wrote, “the things we have to do,” and making sure we’re insured when we take our final breath is worth such knowledge.

“We’re providing information regarding pre-planning. The Johnson Memorial Pre-need Plan is always available should a family feel they need such to be prepared and have all of their affairs in order when such times come. It’s very important the community is aware of pre-planning; that way when you plan you don’t fail, and if you fail to plan you can have failure,” Mr. Johnson told us.

This necessary discussion panel began with all guests introducing themselves, along with the Johnson Memorial staff returning the same, as many gathered to be a part of such a vital meeting.

Mr. Johnson and staff also handed out refreshments and lunchboxes as the meeting got underway.

With many questions from participants, Mr. Johnson didn’t fail to provide conclusive answers.

Mrs. Stephanie Turner-Hughes of Johnson Memorial also spoke with us, stating:

“Many of us go through life unprepared for our final walk of life, which often leaves our family members in a compromising and uncomfortable state. We’re here today to provide the community with information that’ll hopefully encourage them to look after loved ones in a big way when it’s more considerate than ever, and we want to make sure our guests receive such here and will share such knowledge with others so they too may be aware and ready to help their families in a way that’ll be very appreciated.”

We strive to share valuable knowledge to our community here at the Western Star, just as Johnson Memorial Funeral Directors, to ensure we all are aware of business matters and conversations many of us are still yet to know and have.

Johnson Memorial is located at 2601 9th Avenue in Bessemer, AL. You may reach them at 205-425-2414 or johnsonmemorialusa.com to call or email them with necessary concerns, inquiries and information regarding ways to succeed beyond failure.
