Curtis James Green was born on January 26, 1975, in Greensboro, Alabama, to Mrs. Bettie Green. He departed this life on May 25, 2026, at DCH Regional Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at the age of 51.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Green Reid, and his father, Truman Carter Sr.
Curtis leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Julia Mae Green of Marion, AL; his mother, Bettie Green Carter of Greensboro, AL; two sons, Curtis James Green Jr. of Marion, AL, and Corderius Green of Huntsville, AL; sisters Mary Billingsley of Sawyerville, AL, Casandra Ann Tabb (James) of Sawyerville, AL, and Bently of Greensboro, AL; and brothers Al Green (Janice) of Marion, AL, Truman Green (Tanika) of North Carolina, Alexandar Green of Greensboro, AL, and Dr. and Mrs. Vaughn T. Poe of Eutaw, AL.
He also leaves to cherish his memories his in-laws: father-in-law Mack Authour Jackson and mother-in-law Lou Jean Jackson of Marion, AL; sisters-in-law Kathy Benjamin (Brian) of Marion, AL, Shirley Jackson Jones (Charles) of Marion, AL, Kimberly Jackson of Marion, AL, Belinda Ivey (Anthony) of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Victoria Hopkins (Michael) of Marion, AL; and brothers-in-law Joe Lewis Benjamin (Barbara) of Marion, AL, Mack Authour Jackson Jr. of Marion, AL, J.C. Jackson of Marion, AL, Michael Tyrone Jackson of Marion, AL, and Walter Jackson of Selma, AL.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, including a special nephew, Victor Harris (b.k.a. “Heart Break Kid”), a special niece, Nevaeh Foster (b.k.a. “Candi”), and special friends Mr. Gary Flowers, Joslinda January, and Melinda Fields.
Services were held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at New Pentecostal Church, 708 Hobson Street, Greensboro, Alabama, with Pastor Loretta Long officiating.
