Bessemer Police Sgt. Tommie Bolden has been with the Bessemer Police Department since 2017.
Bolden was hired as a correctional officer for the Bessemer City Jail.
Recently, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. The promotion ceremony was held at the Bessemer Civic Center.
Bolden said, “I would like to thank Police Chief Carmichael for the opportunity bestowed upon me to serve as a sergeant.”
A native of Birmingham, Bolden is a 2003 graduate of Miles College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is a 20-year member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
His duties will include maintaining appropriate staff for B-Watch—the Second Shift, assign patrol vehicles and validating all the reports submitted.
Bolden has been married for 13 years to Shanta Bolden, and they have three children.
