The fifth annual Survivors & Thrivers Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at North Highlands Baptist Church in Hueytown.
The fundraiser, presented by the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce, honors those who have fought and continue to fight breast cancer. Local survivors will share their stories.
Debbie Kiker, Michael Cashaw and Lisa Kriegel are planning the event. Area churches and individuals will create the tablescapes.
Proceeds go to the Baptist Health Foundation at Princeton Baptist Medical Center, which provides mammograms to local women and men who are uninsured and in need of care.
Sponsors are state Rep. Patrick Sellers of District 57, state Sen. Merika Coleman, the Cashaw family, Dr. Robin Conley, Don the Cruiser and Norton’s Florist.
