Francis Marion School will hold its homecoming the week of September 28 through October 2, ending with a coronation, a parade and the Rams’ homecoming football game against the Broncos on Friday, October 2, according to schedules the school posted on its Facebook page.
Each day of Spirit Week, the week leading up to Homecoming, has a dress-up theme and at least one event, and the schedule lists admission to every event at $2.
- Monday, September 28, is Camo Day, with students in camouflage shirts, pants, hats, hoodies or face paint. Students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade will have a glow party, and students in grades seven through 12 will have a basketball game.
- Tuesday, September 29, is Character Day. Students in pre-kindergarten through third grade are asked to dress as a favorite cartoon character, and students in fourth through 12th grade as a favorite television or movie character. The day’s events are a bubble jam for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and a volleyball game for grades seven through 12.
- Wednesday, September 30, has a boots and denim theme, with cowboy hats, flannel, boots and denim, and the event is a line dance party.
- Thursday, October 1, is Jersey and Hat Day, with students in sports jerseys, team shirts and hats. The day’s events are a powderpuff football game for grades four through 12 and a pep rally.
- Friday, October 2, is Rams Spirit Day, with students in orange and blue. The coronation is at 2 p.m. and the parade at 4 p.m. The schedule lists pregame at 6 p.m. and the homecoming game against the Broncos at 7 p.m., and says concessions open at 2 p.m.
Homecoming T-shirts and donations are being taken through gofan.co through Wednesday, September 23. The flyer says purchases and donations “support the Ram you would like for Homecoming.” Tailgate spots for the game are also being sold through gofan.co.
Parade entries are due Monday, September 28.
