State troopers investigated six fatal traffic crashes during the four-day Labor Day enforcement period, Sept. 4 through 7, the same number as in 2025, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said Sept. 8. None of the fatal crashes was in Perry County or the surrounding counties; they occurred in Baldwin, Cleburne, Colbert, Shelby and Lauderdale counties.
Over the four days, troopers investigated 322 crashes with 107 injuries, issued 2,481 citations and 1,369 warnings and made 34 DUI arrests, the agency said. On the water, Marine Patrol troopers reported no boating deaths, investigated three boating incidents with three injuries, conducted 380 vessel inspections, issued 106 citations and 544 warnings and made two boating under the influence arrests.
“Every number in these statistics represents a person, a family or a community impacted by what happened on Alabama’s roadways and waterways this weekend,” ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor said, asking drivers to carry the same habits past the holiday: slow down, buckle up, put distractions away and never drive impaired.
