Paula Jeanne Plummer, 58, of Tuscaloosa died July 19 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Services were held Friday, July 24, at Greensboro Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m., with Bobby Dubose and Keith Pugh officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery.
Plummer was born May 27, 1968, in Demopolis. She graduated from Greensboro High School as class president, salutatorian and a member of the bio-med program, and earned a Bachelor of Science in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama in 1990. She spent 35 years with the same bank, staying on through multiple mergers and name changes.
A member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, she taught Sunday School and was part of the Wednesday night supper club. After the death of her father, Jimmie, she became devoted to her mother, traveling with her widely and setting aside Thursday nights to spend together. Her love language was gift-giving, and she delighted in surprising the people she loved.
Survivors include her mother, Marjorie Davis; sisters, Kimberly Shurett (Brad) and Carol Swift (Larry Cook); brother, Jimmy “Jimbo” Davis; nieces and nephews, Richard Bonds (Tara), Katy Bonds (Lindsey Wilkinson), David Bonds (Brooke), Hannah McGee (Andy), Teresa Rotunno, Jonathan Davis (Kelly), Jeremy Davis and Joel Davis (Abby); and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her fathers, Jimmie Davis and Wayne Plummer; sisters, Becky Davis and Tina Plummer; brother, Timothy Plummer; and grandparents, Varner Plummer, Dorothy Plummer, Frank Davis, Ava Davis, Melonea Martin and Stanley Martin Sr.
Pallbearers were Joe Drake, Dylan Drake, Perry Powell, Henry Moore, Michael Martin, Jimmy Murphree, Elwin Crawford and Mark Plummer. Honorary pallbearers were Charmian Crawford, Audrea Moore, Donna Ward and their children, Kelly Bagby, colleagues from Wells Fargo, the FBC Wednesday night supper club, Kristi and the FBC second grade class, and the medical staffs of Grandview Medical Center and DCH Regional Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa in care of the Children’s Ministries.
