The City of Bessemer received sealed public bids for the 19th Street Bridge Repair Project.
All the bids received exceeded the city’s established budget limits and available funds allocated for the project.
Gillespie Construction Company was the only company to present a proposal within budget.
Gillespie’s negotiated lowest bid amount was in the amount of $448,610.00.
Bessemer Mayor Kenneth Gulley was authorized to execute, attest and deliver the formal contract agreement and all associated change orders on behalf of the City of Bessemer.
Councilwoman Sarah Person made a motion to approve the item. Councilman Teco Stephens seconded the motion. The motion carried.
