“Never go into a job because of the pay and make sure you have the passion for it,” is what Cedric Hayden told us at his recent retirement ceremony.
For twenty years, Mr. Hayden has served the Jefferson County community with passion and dedication.
With a bittersweet outlook, Mr. Hayden’s retirement comes on time to make way for others and give him the time to relax and enjoy life fully, nonetheless.
With this being his fondest career choice and longest standing due to enjoying everything this job entailed for him, Mr. Hayden’s contributions will not go forgotten.
He told us, “If you’re young and looking to work and deciding on what to do, whether you’re finishing high school or coming out of college, find a job you really want to do, and the compensation will follow.”
Working within the Environmental Services for Jefferson County’s Sewer System, Mr. Hayden was celebrated by many co-workers over cake, refreshments and other dishes.
Deputy Director of Environmental Services, Mr. Daniel White, told us, “It’s been more than a pleasure to work alongside a dedicated worker such as Cedric. His work ethic and advisory skills regarding the progression and development of this county is wonderful. He’s always been consistent in contributing to the success of the communities and seeing to it that other Junior Engineers grow to solve problems for the communities and such has impacted me during my career working with someone like Mr. Hayden.”

As Chief Sewer Engineer, Mr. Hayden has worked within the collection system that oversees waste management by collecting and sending waste materials to cleaning plants and solving problems concerning a vast duty.
Mentoring and coaching other engineers solely has been a big love of Mr. Hayden’s to ensure livable environments through our county.
