Jessie Ray Averette, 72, of Marion, died Wednesday, June 24.
Jessie Ray was born October 22, 1953, in Alabama.
Jessie Ray was preceded in death by Rita Jo Averette, Christopher Ray Averette, Wendy Michelle Averette, Jimmy Wayne Averette, Jackson C. Averette, and Inez Lagrone Averette.
Jessie Ray is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Robin Averette and Terra Marie Lee (Randy); one son, Justin Sterling Averette; two brothers, Ronnie Lee Averette and Randy Jackson Averette; twelve grandchildren, Christopher Tyler Averette, Shelly Nicole Averette, Elizabeth Macy Carpenter, Robert Hunter Carpenter (Kristina), James Chase Carpenter, Jodeci Xavious Billingsley, Jaylon Cole Robichaux, Devin Dynell McKinney (Daneilla), Justin Edward Carter, Brandon Jo Averette, Zackery Lee Averette, and McKynzee Renee Averette; and nine great-grandchildren, Krue, Sailor, Jett, Trent, Benton, Caden, Tate, and Raelynn Grace.
A visitation was held at Rockco Funeral Home, 805 Birmingham Road, Centreville, on Tuesday, June 30, from 10 to 11 a.m.
A graveside service was held at Spring Hill Cemetery, County Road 49, Marion, on Wednesday, July 1, from 2 to 3 p.m., with Brother Gervis Smith of Open Door Baptist Church officiating. Interment was at Spring Hill Cemetery.
