Walta Mae Kennie, 83, of Marion, passed away on May 10, 2026. She was born December 10, 1942.
She served Perry County for many years in government administration, serving as clerk of the Perry County Commission and later as County Administrator when that position was created.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Methodist Community Church, 2333 County Road 24, Marion. Ms. Kennie lay in state one hour prior to the service. Interment followed in DeYampert Cemetery on County Road 24 in Marion.
