INVITATION FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE OF STATE LAND LOCATED IN TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, ALABAMA
LOCATION OF PROPERTY SUBJECT OF THIS NOTICE:
The “Sharpes Lake Road Property,” more specifically described as follows:
A parcel of land located in a portion of the Northwest 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 19, Township 20 South, Range 9 West and all of the Southeast 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 24, Township 20 South, Range 10 West, that lies North and West of Lake Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, containing 20.96 acres more or less.
MINIMUM BID AMOUNT:
$420,000
BID DEPOSIT:
Each bid submitted must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check in the amount of $42,000 as bid deposit made payable to the State Lands Division which will be forfeited if the bid is accepted and the bidder does not complete the transaction within thirty (30) days of award.
Any bid submitted without such check will not be considered.
Unsuccessful bidders’ deposits will be returned promptly following the bid opening. The successful bidder’s deposit will be applied to the purchase price.
The successful bidder shall reimburse the Alabama Department of Mental Health for the cost of the appraisal, $3,200, the cost of the survey, $16,300, and the advertisement fees incurred for this notice.

Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Transportation at the office of the Alabama Department of Transportation, Montgomery, Alabama until 10:00 AM on May 29, 2026 and at that time publicly opened for constructing the Safety Widening, Resurfacing (Scrub Seal), Bridge Guardrail Retrofit, Guardrail Installation, and Traffic Stripe on SR-79 from the junction of Winewood Road west of Centerpoint to the junction of Old Bradford Road north of Pinson to include the Safety Widening, Resurfacing (Scrub Seal), and Traffic Stripe on SR-151 from the junction of SR-79 to the junction of SR-75 in Pinson. Length 6.916 mi.
The total amount of uncompleted work under contract to a contractor must not exceed the amount of his or her qualification certificate.
The Entire Project Shall Be Completed In Eighty (80) Working Days.
A Bidding Proposal may be purchased for $5.00. Plans may be purchased for $4.00 per set. Plans and Proposals are available at the Alabama Department of Transportation, 1409 Coliseum Boulevard, Room E-108, Montgomery, AL 36110.
