Guests are encouraged to wear the colors of their favorite team, creating a spirited, collegiate atmosphere. The Bessemer Housing Authority (BHA) YouthBuild program will host a community-wide National College Decision Day celebration on Friday, May 1, at 11 a.m.
The event will take place at Southside Homes, 2501 Clarendon Avenue in Bessemer. YouthBuild participants who have committed to enrolling in college, university, or post-secondary training programs will be honored. Leaders of the program said, “Every student deserves to feel seen, celebrated and encouraged as they take this next big step.”
BHA residents, partners and community supporters are invited to attend. The event will also feature a showcase of Alabama’s higher education institutions. National College Decision Day is celebrated across the country each May to recognize students’ decisions to pursue higher education.
