Lori Davidson loves the theatre. A talented actress, she is a member of the Hueytown Arts Council and the Hueytown Community Theatre. Her family moved from Fairfield to Hueytown when Lori was 2 years old. Recently she was asked to serve as the public relations liaison for the Hueytown Arts Council.
A member of Fusion Church in Hueytown, Lori is in rehearsals for the upcoming Hueytown Community Theatre production of “The Curious Savage.” Among the events she is involved with are Red, White & Boom CityFest, Back to School Movie & Game Night and Candy Cane Lane.
This genial lady loves a peach crumble made with delicious Chilton County peaches. Lori is a hobbyist photographer, and that is how she became involved with the Arts Council. She is active in the local running community and regularly runs 5Ks both locally and out of state.
Lori, a 36-year employee of Morris & Lavette, PC, is honored to contribute to and support the community through her work with the Hueytown Arts Council.
How long have you been a member of the Hueytown Arts Council?
Lori: I joined the Arts Council about two years ago. After seeing the council’s vision of bringing art and theatre to the local community with free and fun events, I wanted to be a part of promoting and growing the vision.
What are your duties with the Arts Council?
Lori: As a council member, I work with the council at various community events. I am excited about my public relations responsibilities and working with the media. My husband and fellow council member Russell Davidson and I also host the Hueytown Art Show & AuthorFest, which is an annual springtime event showcasing the work of local artists and authors.
Do you have a favorite play?
Lori: Yes sir. The 1971 musical “Fiddler on the Roof” starring Chaim Topol.
Who is your favorite actress?
Lori: My favorite actress is a tie between Katharine Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman.
Tell me about your family.
Lori: I am the youngest of eight children of the late Ruth and Walter Covington, who were married for 42 years. I have so many wonderful memories of growing up in Hueytown surrounded by family, friends and community.
What is your favorite meal?
Lori: I embrace a plant-based diet, and some of my favorites include fruit bowls with bananas, strawberries and blueberries. I also enjoy Mexican food, pasta dishes and vegetable stir fry.
