Carrol Joy Payne Robinson, 77, died September 17 at Druid City Hospital. She was born April 6, 1948, to Dewey and Reba Wyatt Payne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Carolyn Lorrein Payne, Juanita Phares and Nelda Cotton; and her brother, Adolph Payne.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Gene Robinson; her daughter, Crystal Joy McKenzie (Heath); her three grandchildren, Mallory, Molly and Jake McKenzie, who called her Maw; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She found joy in sewing and loved gardening, plants and flowers, but her favorite pastime was simply being in the company of her loved ones.
Visitation was held Tuesday, September 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church in Akron, and graveside services followed at 11 a.m. in the church cemetery, with Elder Bobby Payne officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were the doctors and staff of the DCH MICU, Dr. Joshua Argo, the DCH Radiology Department and the staff of the Hale County Courthouse.
Magnolia Chapel South of Tuscaloosa directed.
