The D. W. Segars Memorial American Legion Post 1228 in Hueytown is committed to helping veterans, their families and communities.
They were completely surprised recently when notified that a local business wanted to help them.
The Black Family Restaurants McDonald’s Hueytown also helps veterans. Not only on Memorial Day, 4th of July or Veterans Day, but all year-long.
Jim Black and Jamie Black are the owners of the Black Family Restaurants McDonald’s.
The business was made aware of the renovations being done at the American Legion in Hueytown and made a $4,500 donation based on a percentage of sales.
Eric Frye of Hueytown is the commander of the American Legion Post 1228.
Cmdr. Frye said, “We are grateful for the support from the Black Family Restaurants McDonald’s Hueytown. Their generosity will go toward the renovations of our Post.”
The Legion extends their appreciation to Debbie Kiker and the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce for promoting the fundraiser.
All veterans are welcome to visit and join the American Legion in Hueytown.
