A Huntsville man is charged with felony criminal mischief after authorities say he drove a vehicle into a privacy fence at a Marion residence last September, tearing the fence apart and knocking its gate off the hinges.
Takeldrick Deonta Heard, 31, of Huntsville, was arrested Aug. 21 on a charge of criminal mischief, first degree, a Class C felony, according to Perry County District Court records. The case was filed in district court Aug. 24, and the records list a state law enforcement agency as the arresting agency.
A sworn complaint filed by Marion police alleges that on or about Sept. 2, 2025, Heard, with the intent to damage the property, used his vehicle to run into a privacy fence, tearing it into pieces and knocking the gate off its hinges, and that he had no right to do so or any reasonable grounds to believe he did. The complaint puts the damage at $5,000. Criminal mischief is charged in the first degree when the damage exceeds $2,500.
A Marion Police Department incident report gives the location as a residence on Dekalb Street and lists the damaged property as a private gate valued at $5,000. The report was filed with the Perry County circuit clerk’s office on Oct. 23, 2025, and the complaint was sworn the following day, nearly 10 months before the arrest.
