Karen Sue LaGrone, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and cherished member of her family, died Aug. 20 at the age of 65. She was born Jan. 15, 1961.
Survivors include her loving husband, Kenneth LaGrone; her children, Vinnie Harris (Crystal), Brandon Harris (Christi), Sommer Dunkin (Robert), Lynn Mitchell (Melton) and Wendy Williams (Jonte); her siblings, Henry Swindle and Barbara Parten; her grandchildren, Jordan Mitchell, Justin Mitchell, Amanda Polk, Christian Harris, Melanie Harris, Austin Harris, Kaitlyn Harris, Brianna Harris, Jasmine Lolley, Brantley Harris, Jax Swartz, Kyra Williams, Alyssa Williams, Bryant Williams and Hunter Dunkin; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Carter; her mother, Frances Carter; a daughter, Kelsie LaGrone; a brother, Donald Carter; and a grandson, Stephen LaGrone.
Her life and memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends and everyone whose life she touched.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Burial was at Springhill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny Gramatzki, Adam Adams, Phillip LaGrone, Caleb LaGrone, Alfonso Vital and Houston LaGrone. Honorary pallbearers were Shelby Baptist Hospital and Hospice.
