“Working on a Mission” Greater Bethel M.B. Church visits Diversicare

Diversicare

This past week, the Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church’s Mission Team carried out a significant mission. The Greater Bethel congregants visited the Diversicare Nursing Home, located at 820 Golf Course Rd., Bessemer, AL 35022, to the delight of the staff and residents.

Under the pastoral leadership of Pastor James E. Eades, Rev. Reginald Mims, Sis. Jerry Mims, First Lady Vera Eades, and Sis. Judy Davis represented this particular mission well.

“Reverend Mims’ sermon was very touching, and I recognized many of our residents were able to follow and understand the message. We’re looking forward to another visit from the Greater Bethel church family, for this was a great service and needed experience for our residents,” Mr. Willie Hughes, III, Diversicare Activities Supervisor, told us.

The GBMC Mission Team held a traditional service for and with the Diversicare residents that included worship song performances and devotion. They also presented residents with bags that included necessities and accessories such as face towels, socks, snacks, and more.

Mrs. Jerry Mims told us, “Our Mission Ministry was elated to have the opportunity to visit and render services of fellowship with the residents. They were excited and happy to receive God’s Word with ‘Amens’ and joy on their faces.”

One particular moment during worship was when one Diversicare resident asked aloud if she could also “sing her song,” which exuded the Good Spirit throughout the room, adding to the day’s services and serving as a testimony to such.

We sincerely appreciate the care and consideration for our local residents of facilities such as Diversicare that the Greater Bethel congregants recently displayed.

This is what it’s all about — going forth and spreading such beyond the church house, which is to go out and share the Good News of our Lord and Savior to the masses.

“Let’s All Go Out Each Day And Be A Part of A Mission Bigger Than Ourselves, Yet Meant For Positive Purposes For Everyone.”

“Thanks Greater Bethel for the Inspiration.”
