The Bessemer City Council has determined that authorizing Bessemer Mayor Kenneth Gulley to execute a service agreement with Vulcan Line Tools, Inc. (Vulcan) is in the best interest of the city.
The purpose of the service agreement is to retain the services of Vulcan Line Tools, Inc. to perform a joint use audit of all Bessemer owned utility poles within the service area of Bessemer Electric Service (BES). This accurate inventory will allow BES to correctly charge third party users for the use of BES poles.
Vulcan Line Tools proposed to assist in counting all city utility poles using 360-degree imaging and foot counting.
Councilman Chester W. Porter made a motion to approve the resolution authorizing Mayor Gulley to executive a service agreement. Councilwoman Carla Jackson, and Councilman Teco Stephens seconded the motion. The motion carried.
