Six charged with hunting violations in Hale County

Jonathan Wade Lowery, 52, Northport, was cited on two charges on March 27 after he was allegedly found hunting on National Forest Road 701 during a closed season.

Lowery was charged with hunting during closed season, a misdemeanor under Section 9-11-236 of the Code of Alabama, and with a deer/turkey harvest record violation under Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Rule 220-2-146(3).

Lowery, who was reportedly driving a 2022 Toyota Tundra at the time of the stop, was released on bond the same day. His total bond amount was not listed in court records.

Two Duncanville teenagers were cited together on March 29 for allegedly hunting during a closed season on the Oakmulgee Wildlife Management Area.

Mason Andrew Eisenhower, 19, and Asher Riley Colburn, 19, were each allegedly found hunting with .410 shotguns near the intersection of National Forest Roads 705 and 706 at approximately 7:50 p.m. Both were charged under Section 9-11-236 and released on bond the same day.

The most serious cases involve two men arrested on warrants in connection with an alleged incident on March 25.

Wesley Shawn Deerman, 33, Sawyerville, and Bradley Wayne Beard, 30, Moundville, were each charged with hunting on the lands of another without the written permission of the landowner, a misdemeanor under Section 9-11-241 of the Code of Alabama.

According to the sworn complaints, the two men allegedly hunted, trapped, captured, injured, killed, or attempted to hunt, trap, capture, injure, kill, or destroy wild game on another person’s land between sunrise and sunset without written permission of or accompaniment by the landowner or person in control of the property.

Both were arrested on March 27, and bond was set at $1,000 each. Both remained in custody as of March 30.

All six defendants are scheduled to appear on the plea docket on June 16.
