Members of the West Alabama Maternity Care Coalition held a meeting at the Hale County Extension Office on Wednesday, December 10th. The meeting was hosted by Franchesca Burrell, EFNEP Nutrition Educator.
The coalition, made up of educators, agencies, non-profits, and others, met to discuss possible partnership strategies to help overcome the challenges faced by pregnant women and their newborn babies.
The group is dedicated to sharing resources, engaging in research, and helping women with maternal care. Their primary goal is to increase access to maternal healthcare so prospective mothers can deliver healthy babies.
