The Battle of the Badges Police vs. Fire and Rescue softball game in Hueytown will be a fun-filled family event on Saturday, August 22.
The softball game will start at 7 p.m. at the Hueytown High School Baseball Field.

Michael Yarbrough is Hueytown Police Chief, and Danny Sullivan is Hueytown Fire Chief.
Planning the fundraising event are Police Officer Nick Pierce, Debbie Kiker and Assistant Fire Marshall Lt. Eddy Stewart.
The proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama in Birmingham.
The city of Hueytown is hosting this First Responders game.
Officer Pierce, an organizer of the fundraiser, said, “I have a heart for helping children and providing for families in need.”
The Ronald McDonald House Charities was selected because of the wonderful support and essential services they provide to families with seriously ill or injured children received medical care.
The mission of the American nonprofit is to strengthen and keep families together while receiving medical attention during their hospital stay.
