PCWA installing four backup generators

The Perry County Water Authority is installing four backup generators at wells and pumping stations across the county’s water system in a project valued at approximately $600,000.

The generators will provide emergency backup power for two water wells and two pumping stations, helping maintain water service during power outages. The Taylor Power Systems units are currently being installed.

The project was funded through a Rural Development grant secured in partnership with ClearWater Solutions, a water system management firm. Herbert Malone, area manager for ClearWater Solutions, said the sites where the generators are being installed experience frequent and extended power outages.

“Chairman Ford and the Perry County Water Authority did an outstanding job securing grant funding, ensuring all four generators were purchased at no cost to the county,” Malone said.
