Lindsay Whatley is the music director at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in the McAdory/McCalla area.
Whatley will be in concert at Bethlehem United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 31, performing in the Fifth Sunday Music Recital.
The recital starts at 2 p.m. and will end at 4 p.m.
The church is located at 1491 Allison Bonnett Memorial Drive in Hueytown.
Following the recital, light refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall.
The Rev. Barbara Mosley is the pastor at Bethlehem UMC.
The Fifth Sunday Music Recital will open with “Christ the Lord is Risen Today.”
This selection will be followed by “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah” with Bizet’s “Prelude” from “L’arlesienne Suite No. 1.”
Also performed will be “O Sacred Head, Now Wounded” and “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”
The program will conclude with “Come, Thou Fount” with Tchaikovsky’s “Piano Concerto No. 1.”
Born into a musical family, Whatley is a 2025 graduate of Sewanee, The University of the South, with degrees in Neuroscience and Music Performance.
Whatley plans to pursue a career in medicine while continuing her music.
