Breast Cancer Awareness Month is very important at Plantation Manor Retirement Community in McCalla.
It was a gathering of love, hope and pink at Plantation Manor Friday, Oct. 9, for the breast cancer survivors and residents. Stronger together.
The 25th annual Breast Cancer Walk started in the Manor’s parking lot and then moved to the main building for a reception in the lobby for the survivors and residents. Among the refreshments was a delicious white cake with pink icing.
Nearly 70 residents, survivors and families walked around the parking lot twice in celebration and fellowship. They walked to celebrate the survivors, those fighting, those thriving beyond breast cancer and those who have died.
They walked because they could. Thanks be to God.
This celebration of strength, faith and courage was planned by the team of Shon Harris and Amber, Mireya, ACG Hospice, Southeast Hospice and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The Breast Cancer Walk opened with a prayer given by Plantation Manor administrator and owner Gavin Ball. He prayed for their five survivors and those who continue fighting the fight.
