The Hueytown Community Theatre will open its 2026-27 season Oct. 16 with “The Curious Savage,” John Patrick’s three-act comedy, at the Hueytown Family Recreation Center, 1348 Hueytown Road.
In its three years the theatre has nearly sold out every show. This third season is its first full one. Katsy Sellers is the theatre’s director, and Michelle McClinton is president of the Hueytown Arts Council.
“The Curious Savage” is directed by Ashley Russell, with Jeff DeShazo as assistant director. The story follows an elderly woman who inherits $10 million and decides to give her fortune away to help ordinary people, until greed shows its face.
“Hueytown residents love being able to enjoy a night out by going to the theatre in our city,” Sellers said. “The community theatre has established a strong patrons’ base.”
The season continues with “Christmas Belles” Dec. 10-13, “The Young and the Murderous” Feb. 12-14, 2027, and “Deliver Us From Mama” April 23 through May 2, 2027. Ticket information is at hueytownarts.org and on the Hueytown Arts Council’s Facebook page.
