Stewart Methodist Church will hold its annual Homecoming service on Sunday, August 23, beginning at 10:45 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon following the morning service, and everyone is invited to stay to reminisce and fellowship over a meal. A nursery for children from birth through age 4 will be available during the service.
Letha Parker of Phenix City will be the Homecoming speaker. She and her husband, the Reverend Grant Parker, served the Moundville and Stewart Methodist churches from 1997 to 2005, and the congregation rejoices to welcome them back to Stewart.
Over 42 years, Letha Parker has served faithfully in ministry alongside her husband through seven pastoral appointments comprising 15 churches. She retired in January 2025 after 17 years as director of children’s ministry at Epworth Methodist Church in Phenix City, a position that included all ministry to children through sixth grade, Mom’s Day classes and the K3 and K4 preschool programs.
The Reverend Michael Cobb is pastor of Stewart Methodist Church. The public is invited to attend and bring friends.
