Lawson State Community College serves more than 3,500 students annually.
The annual Cougar Fest, sponsored by Lawson State College, will take place on Saturday, August 8, starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m.
The community give-back event will be held at the college’s Birmingham campus at 3060 Wilson Road, SW.
Dr. Cynthia T. Anthony is president of Lawson State Community College.
Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
“Cougar Fest is a day of fun and excitement and so much more,” said Dorian Waluyn, executive director of strategic initiatives and external affairs for the college.
There will be games, food trucks, giveaways, free grooming services and door prizes.
Most importantly, school supplies will be distributed to students on a first come, first served basis.
