Back-to-school shopping is underway.
Bessemer City Councilman Jarvis Collier, District 1, is committed to helping young people as they prepare for the new school year.
The 8th Annual Back-to-School Bash, sponsored by Councilman Collier and the Fountain of Life Church, will take place on Saturday, August 1, at 1 p.m.
Councilman Collier said, “200 backpacks have been donated, and they are loaded with school supplies and hand sanitizers. I want to thank the local businesses whose donations make the event possible.”
The church is located at 1414 2nd Avenue, North, in downtown Bessemer.
The event is open to the public.
Church Pastor Noah Rocker said, “Our church family is again honored to partner with Councilman Collier in such a worthy project.”
This project is instrumental in making for a successful school year.
