Ethel Carter Brasfield

Ethel Carter Brasfield, 68, of Akron, died Saturday, July 11. She was born Nov. 16, 1957, to the late Ben and Mary Harris.

She joined church at an early age. She was a member of New Pentecostal Holiness Church and joined Shekinah Glory Holiness Church of Akron.

She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Joseph Brasfield of Akron; one daughter, Angela (Bobby) Nobels; one sister, Eva Lee (Willie) Fields of Sawyerville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a special grandson, Joshua Lucious; two brothers, Benjamin (Willie Bell) Harris and Nick Harris, both of Sawyerville; two sisters-in-law, Autherine Palmer of Akron and Betty Carter of Greensboro; two brothers-in-law, Isiah (Bertha) Brasfield Jr. of Tuscaloosa and Larry (Tawanda) Brasfield of Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Public viewing was held Monday, July 20, from noon until 4 p.m. at Agnew Funeral Home in Greensboro. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Akron.
