Georgia man arrested on 2025 drug warrant

A Brunswick, Ga., man was arrested Monday, July 20, on a warrant stemming from a March 2025 drug case in Greensboro.

Tamarcus Cornelius Smith, 22, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, both Class D felonies, according to court records.

According to the complaint, sworn in May 2025, Smith unlawfully possessed a concealed liquid prescription and psilocybin mushrooms on or about March 18, 2025, at or near the 600 block of Tuscaloosa Street in Greensboro.

As of Monday, July 20, court records listed Smith in custody with bond set at $20,000. A plea docket setting is scheduled for Sept. 22.
