Janie and Jamie Riggsby recently enjoyed a trip to Boston

Read last week that Dr. Jami Rainey is retiring after more than 28 years in education. He was the principal at Northridge Middle School the past four years.

Under his leadership, Northridge raised its state report card grade while earning remarkable recognitions, including being named both a State and National School of Character, receiving the NAESP National Gold Star School Award, earning A+ College Ready School of Distinction and A+ College Ready School of Excellence honors, and becoming a Cognia STEM Certified School.

Dr. Rainey was also recognized as a National Distinguished Principal Finalist! He is a graduate of Hale County High School and the son of the late Jimmy Rainey and the late Janet Bibby Lee.

Jamie Riggsby (formerly of Moundville) and his wife, Jan, took a trip this past week to Boston. They live in Merrimack, New Hampshire!

Jamie is the grandson of the late James and Mildred Wyatt of Moundville. They enjoyed the tall ship festival in Boston for the 250th July 4th celebration. Jamie said the USS Constitution led the festival!

Joining them from Moundville to help Jamie celebrate his birthday were Chris Pearson and Wade Epperson. Jamie said they went to a Red Sox game, walked the Freedom Trail, and ate a lot of seafood.

HCHS BAND CAMP is ON!

It is so hot! If you would like to donate some much-needed items: Gatorade or Powerade, water bottles, individually packaged snacks (fruit snacks, protein bars, chips, cookies, Goldfish crackers, etc.), water balloons, or a donation for them to purchase these items, it would be greatly appreciated.

Contact Charlene Wiggins on Messenger! Someone is in the band room after 5:30 and during lunch from 11 to 12. Anything donated and left over after camp will be used during football season.

BIT OF THE ‘BORO

Wanted to say how surprised I was to see the new layout and printing of The Greensboro Watchman. I LOVE IT! So easy to hold and the print is very easy to read. Also enjoyed the colored pics. I always love reading the YEARS AGO pages!

WELL DONE!
