This signature event in Hueytown will long be remembered as a grand celebration of America’s 250th anniversary of independence.
The Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce and Hueytown Arts Council’s Red, White & Boom CityFest patriotic event was attended by more than 4,000 people.
It was a “chamber of commerce day” filled with live entertainment, family activities, food, Kids Zone and, of course, spectacular fireworks. The Flag Parade was a highlight of the afternoon celebration.
It was a beautiful, smoking-hot day at Hueytown City Park as the locals and many out-of-towners arrived with their lawn chairs in tow and sunscreen.
The children enjoyed having their pictures taken with Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty at the free, community event.
Headlining the event was up-and-coming country singer Hannah McFarland.
Debbie Kiker is executive director of the Hueytown Chamber of Commerce, and Michelle McClinton is president of the Hueytown Arts Council.
