Hale CTAC representative seeks community input on transportation concerns

Jonathan Rossell, Hale County’s representative on the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC), is asking residents to share their transportation concerns and ideas ahead of a meeting of the West Alabama Transit Committee on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the West Alabama Regional Commission, 4200 Highway 69 North, Northport.

The meeting will focus on updating the West Alabama Coordinated Transit Plan and addressing challenges and opportunities related to rural transportation services.

Topics of interest include roadway safety, dangerous intersections, public transit accessibility, transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities, access to medical appointments, veterans’ transportation needs, workforce and school transportation, sidewalks and pedestrian safety, and future transportation improvements in Hale County.

“Your input helps ensure that Hale County’s needs are represented during regional transportation planning discussions,” Rossell said. “I may not be able to solve every issue immediately, but I can ensure your voice is heard.”

Any agency intending to pursue Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 Elderly and Disabled Program funding must participate in the plan development process.

Residents may contact Rossell by phone at 205-737-3743 or by email at rossell4haled1@gmail.com.
