The historic Marion Female Seminary is sporting a fresh coat of paint, courtesy of a grant from the Alabama-Tombigbee Resource Conservation and Development Council.
The Perry County Historical and Preservation Society and the Perry County High School Alumni Association, which maintain the 176-year-old landmark, thanked Ala-Tom RC&D for the funding that made the exterior repairs possible.
The Marion Female Seminary, built in 1850, is one of Perry County’s most significant historic structures and continues to serve as a community gathering place for events throughout the year.
