This coming Saturday H.Y.P.E. will make its debut publicly. Consisting of parents, grandparents, godparents, community workers and local Gospel singers, this organization is looking to create a non-violent awareness within our communities. Due to an upheaval of gun violence and fighting amongst our populations, H.Y.P.E. will be organizing community activities for the youth as well as for grownups to restore a familial existence between all generations.
A H.Y.P.E. spokesperson told us, “Through this nonprofit we’re seeking to enhance the confidence, support and known sharing towards our youth and get our community elders involved as well. This coming Saturday will be a way for parents, community members and others to meet us, learn our plans and get involved also if like byway of volunteering or to help us conduct plans and an atmosphere that’ll put a needed end to senseless violence within our neighborhoods.”
This event is to be held at 2017 24th Street North in Birmingham, AL. March 21 from 11AM-2PM where food will be served, activities presented and networking with various community leaders, businesses and more.
