Making a difference is what many seek when it comes to opening a business or serving the public, and Just Like Home Academy is no exception. For twenty-eight years, Mrs. Sharon Lewis and staff have provided top tier services within the instrumentation of upbringing and teaching services for our youth.
“As an entrepreneur I always wanted to provide a safe and nurturing place for children to learn, explore and build personal confidence. I was motivated to continue this journey from wanting to build something of stability that can grow in providing jobs and leaving a great impact on families for years,” Mrs. Lewis recently told us.
Now, twenty-eight years ago, a vision was birthed to expand beyond a home care business to a full fledged academy within two years of opening such. Children that become students of Just Like Home Academy learn various ways of basic understanding—from sharing with one another to expressing feelings and building friendships.
Learning self control and patience is a mandatory instruction mechanism for all students that enter the Just Like Home Academy doors, where parents know that their children are safe, loved and supervised for learning purposes within a clean and nurturing environment.
“I ensure that all staff attends all state required training and conduct inspections monthly within our facilities. Our mission is and has always been to provide a strong educational foundation for our children. I sincerely would like to thank the parents and communities of Bessemer and Birmingham amongst surroundings cities for entrusting their children within our Academy for the last twenty-eight years, for it’s through them our purpose continues to magnify each day,” Mrs. Lewis stated.
