Dorothy Jean Caples Minor, age 90, of Clinton, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 1, 2025, at Moundville Health and Rehabilitation.
Born on October 13, 1935, Dorothy was the oldest of eleven children born to Richard and Bessie Caples.
Dorothy devoted her life to her family, raising seven children of her own and later opening her heart and home to her two granddaughters, whom she lovingly adopted and helped raise as her own. Family was her greatest joy, and her strength, guidance, and unconditional love shaped multiple generations.
She was a longtime resident of Clinton, Alabama, and a faithful member of Clinton Baptist Church. Known as a pillar of her community, Dorothy was affectionately considered a grandmother to all. Her home was always open, her heart always giving, and her kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bessie Caples; three sisters; two brothers; her four sons; and her beloved husband.
She is survived by three sisters, two brothers, two daughters, one son, ten grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, all of whom will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.
Dorothy Jean Caples Minor leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and family devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Magnolia Chapel South, with Bro. Jason Stephens officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial followed at Clinton Cemetery in Clinton, Alabama. Visitation was held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers were: Heath Stephens, Tommy Porter, T.D. Mayhall, Trent Mayhall, Brian Pearson, and Spence Owens.
