Never too young to learn. The 2026 Professional Career Day event planned for Thursday, February 5, is guaranteed to be a very good experience for the students.
The C. F. Hard Elementary School event is intended to teach the students about professional careers. The school is located at 2801 Arlington Avenue, South in Bessemer. Adriene Evans is the school principal.
Numerous agencies, departments, and businesses will participate in the educational event.
The Community Service Crime Prevention Unit with the Bessemer Police Department will again participate. Sgt. Kendra Ward-Young oversees the unit, and assisting her at the career day program will be Lt. Robert Slater.
They will provide information on the function of the department and being a police officer. Police badges, coloring books, and pencils will be given to the children.
