John was called to eternal rest on Saturday, November 29, 2025. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Sawyerville, Alabama, where he served in many capacities.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Ms. Willie Mae Marshall of Sawyerville, Alabama; two sons, Jonathan Wilson (La-Sonya) of Pueblo, Colorado, and John Ross (J.R.) Johnson (Le’Nika) of Calera, Alabama; a caring significant other, Joyce Barnes of Eutaw, Alabama; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other loving relatives and friends.
Public viewing was held Friday, December 5, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at Agnew Funeral Home.
Graveside services were held Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with Agnew Funeral Home directing.
