The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony was held on Saturday, November 29, in the heart of downtown Natchez. A grand start to the Natchez Christmas season.

Natchez is known as the Christmas Capital of the South, with a 34’ tree in the center of Main Street.

The Natchez Garden Club 2025 Christmas Pilgrimage Tour of Historic Homes is an unforgettable experience. Karen and Brian Moody and their friends Tammy and Gary Donner and Ginger and Curtis Pope certainly agree. They have just returned from a memorable trip.

The historic city of Natchez is enchanting during the Christmas season. This magical time of the year attracts numerous visitors to the antebellum capital of the world.

Showcased during the Natchez Christmas Pilgrimage are historic homes from the 1700s to the early and mid-1800s.

The beautifully decorated homes—adorned in fresh greenery, period appointments, and Christmas trees—are Choctaw Hall, Ellicott’s Hill, Linden, Magnolia Hall, Sunnyside, Frogmore, and The Towers.

These holiday travelers experienced true Southern hospitality on the many festive tours, as well as during their stay at the Natchez Grand Hotel.

They also enjoyed a charming carriage ride through the historic districts and spent time antiquing.

All agreed the trip was a delightful way to get into the Christmas spirit.
