Bessemer contracts with EEFS for professional engineering services

The Bessemer City Council recently met in regular session at Bessemer City Hall. The meeting was called to order by City Council President Jarvis Collier.

A resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with EEFS with regard to municipal infrastructure and public improvement projects was presented. The city is committed to beautification enhancements at the Recreation Center.

The agreement is specific to the pedestrian bridge over Highway 150 landscape improvements located at or near the Kenneth E. Gulley Recreation Center, 100 14th Street, South. It provides for the performance of services including conceptual design, preparation of construction documents, construction administration and inspection, and bid administration.

Councilman Chester W. Porter made a motion to approve the professional services agreement. Councilwoman Carla Jackson seconded the motion. The motion carried.
