Murray Allen Nichols, of Sprott, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the age of 79.
He was born on February 4, 1947, to the late Leroy “Roy” Nichols and Irene Nichols.
Murray is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy “Roy” Nichols and Irene Nichols; wife, Grace Nichols; siblings, Leon Nichols and Alona Nichols Tucker.
He is survived by his children, Timothy Allan Nichols (Christi), Marvis Ray Nichols, and Crystal Faith “Sissy” Nichols Harrison; grandchildren, Dylan Garrett Nichols (Koli), Jacob Allan Nichols (Madison), Landon Keith Nichols (Victoria), Payton Grace Harrison, and Bailey Jane Harrison; great-grandchildren, Janie Irene Nichols and Ellye August Nichols, and awaiting arrival of Lucas Allan Nichols.
A visitation was held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 1–2 p.m. at Heiberger Methodist Church with funeral services starting at 2 p.m. Burial followed at Paynes Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Timothy Allan Nichols, Marvis Ray Nichols, Donald Chris Harrison, Dylan Garrett Nichols, Jacob Allan Nichols, and Landon Keith Nichols.
Honorary Pallbearers were Jimmy McCullough, Robert Terry, and Billy Joe Tucker.
