100 Black Men of West Ala. to hold heart health event in Tuscaloosa on Jan. 31

The 100 Black Men of West Alabama, Inc. will host a community event titled “Our Hearts and Health Matter” on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on the campus of Stillman College in the Wynn Center.

The event is designed to raise awareness about heart health and address disparities in healthcare access affecting underserved communities.

The event will feature HeartSense, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing heart disease disparities by expanding access to high-quality cardiovascular care and education.

HeartSense Founder Dr. V. Antoine Keller is a leader of the organization and a nationally respected cardiothoracic surgeon recognized for his commitment to improving health outcomes in vulnerable populations. Dr. Kellerack has been instrumental in the development of an AI-augmented stethoscope that detects cardiac abnormalities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about HeartSense directly from Dr. Keller as well as use the technology for heart screening.

Health care professionals and students who are currently enrolled in college pursuing educational opportunities in the healthcare field are encouraged to attend. The event is open to the public, and community members of all ages are also encouraged to attend.
