The December meeting of the Hoover Service Club will long be a heartwarming Christmas memory—one that will be treasured for a lifetime. The joy and goodwill of the season was extended and shared by the ladies who lunch.
The members and their guests arrived early at the Hoover Country Club for the general meeting, followed by the Christmas program. Heather Pierce is president of the Hoover Service Club.
Christmas is tradition, and one of the most endearing traditions is the singing of Christmas carols. The beautiful voices of the Spain Park High School Chamber Choir, singing a selection of traditional carols, wafted through the country club and filled the clubrooms with the joy of the season.
The program was under the direction of Chamber Choir Director Martez Tidwell. We are reminded that the singing of Christmas carols recalls the songs sung by the angels announcing the birth of Jesus Christ.
Following the program, the ladies enjoyed a delicious Christmas luncheon. Additionally, the December community service project benefitted the Green Valley Food Bank, with members donating food items.
