Reverend Noah Rocker of Bessemer has been minister of Fountain of Life Church since 2019. The church is located in the former Bessemer High School building on Second Avenue, North, in historic downtown Bessemer. A good, solid, decent man of God, Rev. Noah believes that God’s love for people should be expressed through the church.
Fountain of Life Church is a good, spiritual neighbor. Rev. Noah is committed to meeting the needs of others. Originally from Jackson, Alabama, he moved to Birmingham in 2016 as an employee of Alabama Power Company. Since the beginning, Rev. Noah has been focused on the strength of partnerships and community service to become better engaged with the community. He is passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
Tell me about Fountain of Life Church?
Rev. Noah: Jesus founded Fountain of Life Church, and we established it in 2019. We are focused on building people spiritually. Our Sunday service is at 9 a.m., and all are welcome.
What is your mission statement?
Rev. Noah: The mission of the church is to win the lost, make disciples of people, equip the believers, and launch laborers.
What gives you joy?
Rev. Noah: My joy comes from spending time with my family and friends. I also realize joy from serving others within the community.
Do you have a favorite meal?
Rev. Noah: My favorite meal is fried catfish with gumbo, hush puppies, fried okra, and collard greens; for dessert, lemon pound cake.
Have you a New Year’s resolution?
Rev. Noah: I have not, but my goal is to focus on improving my health through exercise and a proper diet.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
Rev. Noah: 1 John 3:1–3.
“Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God and it doth not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
Do you have a favorite college football team?
Rev. Noah: I love college football, and the team I cheer for is the University of Alabama.
Tell me about your family?
Rev. Noah: Born in 1984, I am the fourth of six children of Merline and Noah Rocker, Sr., of Jackson, Alabama. I have been happily married for 17 years to Jada McDonald Rocker, and we have two daughters, Adelyn, 15, and Anslee, 14.
